June 2023 News: A Message From the Artist

It's a short one from me this month! I'm all registered for 2023–2024 courses at SVA, have applied for a solo show at Buckham Gallery in Flint, and have a couple of professional development travel plans in place for the summer. Next up is to start digging into calls for entry in New York. Meanwhile, take a look at this virtual exhibition I put together on KUNSTMATRIX for my students at Accelerated Learning Academy, also in Flint. This is the capstone for the arts integration unit on abstraction and World War I that I co-taught with Joshua Brownfield; these students don't have enough opportunities for making art in school, but I hope that seeing their own work in a gallery setting will help to transform the way they view themselves as artists. The works were created using oil pastel on toned Canson paper.
